This used to be one of my go to places for Mexican food. It is disappointing how downspiral the food has gone. Ordered the mushroom and chili toreado appetizers and the portion size was just abysmally small. Portion for the mushroom used to be so much bigger. The chili toreado, which I ordered for the first time was so disappointing. If you ever ordered from grand azteca then you know how flavorful, packed and tasty it is. Ordered the skirt steak main entree; ararrecha or something along that line was the name, and my goodness was the steak so small and DRY! $22 for that is pitiful. The guacamole had no flavor and it was more bland than I can ever describe. Finally, the dessert, we all know how good tres leches cake is right? Supposed to be moist and dripping with condensed milk… nope, not here. See the pictures for the disappointment of food.
I order here quite a bit, it's become one of my faves. The rice is really good, soft and fluffy how it's supposed to be. I also love how they have the jamaica premade in sealed bottles.
For a “fast” Mexican restaurant, they have amazing quality. You can go to the Mi Pueblo location directly across the street for a more formal experience, but this is a great place for carryout or a quick bite. They offer a bevy of frozen drinks and have a very colorful atmosphere. This is a good place for everyone - From singles to families, from Mexicanos y Latinos to other Americans and Canadians - This place has universal appeal.
The best in Southwest Detroit (Mexican town) right now, sorry, not sorry. Omg it's so fresh and flavorful. I had to slow down with going. I was going every day, some days, twice a day lol but seriously. Express better than actual restaurant, in my opinion, better chefs/cooks. Love the host/cashiers, always welcoming with a smile and very attentive. My favorite dinner to get is chicken enchiladas extra queso and double rice. That rice is golden. Sometimes, me and hubby get trays of just rice. That's how good it is.
